Just two years later, the Express Rail Link (ERL) project by YTL Construction was announced, connecting KL Sentral to KLIA. The line opened in 2002, bringing seamless airport access to the capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The drive toward modernisation continued in 2010 with the launch of the Electric Train Service (ETS) along the electrified and double-tracked Kuala Lumpur\u2013Padang Besar route. Travelling at speeds of up to 160km\/h, ETS reshaped long-distance travel in Peninsular Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2018, one of the country\u2019s largest rail infrastructure projects broke ground: the 192km Gemas-Johor Bahru Electrified Double Tracking Project (EDTP), led by YTL Construction and SIPP Rail. This southern stretch marked a major milestone for connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By mid-2024, ETS expands into Johor, with full operations set for March 2025, firmly placing the state on Malaysia\u2019s modern national rail map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also in 2025, the launch of the YTL Kluang Heritage Linear Park and the development of a fibre optic rail corridor by YTL Communications marks a new chapter: where transport, digital connectivity, and community spaces converge to shape a smarter, more connected future.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 1995, Malaysia entered a new era of public transport with the launch of KTM Komuter, the country\u2019s first electric commuter train service.
