The drive toward modernisation continued in 2010 with the launch of the Electric Train Service (ETS) along the electrified and double-tracked Kuala Lumpur\u2013Padang Besar route. Travelling at speeds of up to 160km\/h, ETS reshaped long-distance travel in Peninsular Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2018, one of the country\u2019s largest rail infrastructure projects broke ground: the 192km Gemas-Johor Bahru Electrified Double Tracking Project (EDTP), led by YTL Construction and SIPP Rail. This southern stretch marked a major milestone for connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By mid-2024, ETS expands into Johor, with full operations set for March 2025, firmly placing the state on Malaysia\u2019s modern national rail map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
